Luke McKelvy, CIMA

As Managing Partner of Auric Capital, Luke is responsible for the firm’s overall strategy, operations, and the ability to deliver truly exceptional service to those clients who trust us with their assets and dreams. Additionally, Luke works to serve the needs of individual clients. He is able to provide guidance on investment policy, portfolio construction and cash flow analysis for individuals, pensions and endowments. 

Before co-founding Auric with his five long-time partners, Luke was Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Merrill Lynch. Starting at Merrill Lynch in 1997 in an administrative role on a large team, he learned all aspects of running a ‘client first’ team. Founding Mckelvy, Schellenberg and Associates at Merrill Lynch in 2002 with his friend and fellow advisor Bill Schellenberg, and later adding partners Jeff DeWees and Jay Tamkoc, they built a team that became one of the premier teams at the firm. 

Luke holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Chapman University, is a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA ®) through the Investment and Wealth Institute where he completed all course work at the Haas School of Business, at the University of California at Berkely. He holds series 7, 66, and 31 licenses. Luke, his wife and two children live in Orange County, California.
